After browsing through all available topics pertaining to J2ME implementation on mobile devices, i saw no issues was drawn up about mobile phone being deployed as remote control. Not pda based phone (eg p800/p900 etc) but rather , a pure empty phone such as (eg T610).
Basically, using the InfraRed port . Not bluetooth , not cable , but INFRARED. I think i know the consumer based infrared distance ..( 5 meters?)
I have a few questions in mind as im currently not quite sure whether TV Remote Control would work on T610 (the phone im using).
The codes on Pda-based i believe is running on CDC , as opposed to Cellular Phones CLDC since the memory is kinda limited to only 2MB. My question is , is it possible to port PDA-based remote control to cellular phone based by changing the codes and implement it in CLDC without much problems ? Read more
